Rinsewater Recycling Feasibility & ROI

A typical manufacturer can close-loop recycle 60% of their wastewater by regenerable ion exchange to supply source rinses with DI water for $5 per 1,000-gallons. Operating cost savings are often greater than 80% compared to purchasing water, using portable exchange deionization, chemical waste treatment and sewer discharge, providing a return on investment of less than 2 years.

Because ion exchange resin has a limited capacity to remove total dissolved solids (TDS), it’s only cost-effective for feedwater with TDS <450-mg/l, total suspended solids (TSS) <25-mg/l and pH 3-10. With our decades of experience recycling industrial manufacturers wastewater, Water Innovations has the expertise to identify those rinses meeting these criteria to ensure a cost-effective and long-term trouble-free rinsewater recycling system.
