Continuous Treatment Systems are intended for higher volumes of wastewater typically greater than 10,000 gallons per day and designed to “continuously” treat wastewater utilizing a slant-plate clarifier or other means to achieve rapid solid-liquid separation.
In a continuous system, wastewater is continuously added and treated water is continuously discharged. Influent is typically a combined stream of acid, alkaline, cyanide-bearing and/or hexavalent chrome-bearing waste fed to and between interconnected tanks sized & configured based upon the peak flow & required reaction time. Each tank may include a mixer for solution agitation; level & pH/ORP sensors to monitor the treatment process; electric metering for treatment chemicals additions; and flow control valves for influent, effluent, & sludge transfers depending upon its intended use.
The treatment process typically is automated by a programmable automation controller to execute operator-adjustable treatment set-points established through a touch screen also providing electronic data-logging & archiving for regulatory compliance.
